Executive Director
About the Job
The Executive Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership, operational oversight, and organizational stewardship. The ED ensures the effective execution of MEF’s mission through sound management, strong community engagement, and robust resource development.
This is a hybrid position based in Eagleville, Pennsylvania, requiring regular on‑site presence for meetings and events. The role is 30 hours per week with flexible scheduling, including some evenings and weekends. Pay range $72,000 - $78,000.
Primary Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Organizational Management
- Work closely with the President and officers to provide strategic direction and ensure alignment of all MEF initiatives with long‑term organizational goals.
- Oversee daily operations, including fundraising, financial management, compliance, and grant administration.
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors and Executive Committee to develop and implement annual and multi‑year plans.
- Ensure adherence to all legal, regulatory, and ethical standards governing nonprofit operations.
Fundraising & Resource Development
- Lead a comprehensive fundraising strategy encompassing individual giving, corporate partnerships, foundation support, and alumni engagement.
- Expand corporate relationships, with particular emphasis on maximizing EITC contributions and event sponsorships.
- Prepare high‑quality grant proposals in coordination with the Fund Development Committee.
- Cultivate major donors and prospective high‑impact partners.
- Oversee annual giving campaigns and signature fundraising events.
Financial Oversight
- Manage organizational finances in partnership with the Treasurer, including scholarship and activity accounts.
- Prepare budgets, financial reports, and documentation required for audits and tax filings.
- Oversee all EITC documentation and ensure timely submission of required forms.
- Supervise administrative staff and coordinate with the bookkeeper and tax accountant to support efficient daily operations.
Community Engagement & Communications
- Serve as MEF’s primary representative and spokesperson across public, media, and digital platforms.
- Strengthen relationships with parents, alumni, district staff, Home & School organizations, and local business and civic partners.
- Develop and evaluate communication strategies to enhance MEF’s visibility and brand presence.
Program Administration & Impact Reporting
- Manage the grantmaking process, including application intake, review preparation, and Board coordination.
- Oversee disbursement of scholarship and activity funds, ensuring compliance with donor intent and legal requirements.
- Maintain accurate program records for audits and historical reference.
- Collaborate with the school district to gather program outcomes and impact data.
- Prepare comprehensive reports for major donors and corporate sponsors demonstrating program effectiveness and return on investment.
- Meet regularly with the Superintendent to ensure alignment between MEF initiatives and district priorities.
- Develop partnerships with nonprofits and businesses to co‑fund district initiatives.
District & Community Partnerships
- Maintain regular communication with district administration to align funding priorities.
- Attend school board meetings and provide updates on MEF activities.
- Engage with peer education foundations to exchange best practices and strengthen MEF’s strategic approach.
Volunteer Leadership
- Recruit, train, and support volunteers and committee chairs.
- Foster a culture of professionalism, collaboration, and accountability among staff, board members, and volunteers.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; degree in nonprofit management, business, education, or a related field preferred.
- Demonstrated success in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, or executive‑level management.
Technical Proficiency
- CRM/Database: Bloomerang or comparable system
- Finance: QuickBooks, Excel
- Productivity: Google Workspace, Microsoft Office
- Marketing/Design: Canva, Firespring or comparable
Additional Competencies
- Exceptional public speaking, grant writing, and relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to work scheduled evenings and (occasional) weekends as required for events and meetings.
