Dodgeball Questions & Answers

Who can participate?

All Methacton students, Methacton employees, Methacton parents, and Methacton alumni.

Can anyone outside the district participate?

At least 70% of each team must be from Methacton (student, employee, parent or alumni).

Can I be on more than one team?

No! Unfortunately due to the timing of the games, there could be a conflict of game times or your teams could have to play against each other.  In order to avoid any of these conflicts, you can only be on one team!

How many can be on a team?

Teams may be 6-10 players and can be co-ed.  If a team has mixed grade levels, the youngest players on a team have to play up to the oldest player’s division.

What will I need to register a team?

Registration is a 2 step process.

1.  A team captain (A parent/guardian for the student teams) must be determined.  This person will pay for the team and will provide the team name and participant names.

2.  Once the Team Captain registers and pays for the team, all participants (or parents/guardians if the participant is under the age of 18) on the team must complete a waiver, “Permission to Participate” form.  The Permission to Participate form will be posted on this website when it is available and it will also be emailed to the Team Captain to forward to participants or parents/guardians if the participant is under the age of 18.

Teams will be registered on a first-come, first serve basis.  REGISTRATION IS NOT COMPLETE UNTIL THE ENTIRE TEAM HANDS IN THE PERMISSION TO PARTICIPATE waiver.

How much does it cost to register a team?

Registration costs are $150 per team for the students, parents and alumni teams.  Registration cost is $100 for the Methacton teaches and staff teams.

How do I pay?

Payment is made by the team captain for the entire team during registration on-line via a credit card.

When and where is the event?

The Dodgeball tournament will be held in the 3 gyms at Methacton High School on Saturday March 21, 2020.  Doors open at 11 AM for check-in.  Games will run from 12-4 PM.

I don’t want to play, but I want to come and watch my friends and my teachers.  Can I?

Of course! We would love as many cheerleaders and spectators as possible. Entrance cost (if not on a team) is $5 per person.

What are the prizes?

Teams are encouraged to come in costume/uniform!  Prizes will be given out for: Best Dressed Team; Best Team Name; and for the First Place Teams in each division.

How are the teams divided up by?

Teams will be divided up by grade-level based on registration numbers, but elementary students will be separated from older students and the adult divisions for safety purposes!  If a team has mixed grade levels, the youngest players on a team have to play up to the oldest player’s division.

How many games are we guaranteed?

The minimum number of games played would be 2 as it is a double elimination tournament.

Will there be food?

A concession stand will be open for drinks, candy, chips, soft pretzels, and pizza.

What will I need to bring?

Yourself, dressed up for your team’s theme, and a lot of energy! Balls will be provided.

What are the proceeds for this event being used for?

All proceeds will go to the Methacton Education Foundation to fund grants supporting STEM, programs that benefit economically disadvantaged students, career readiness, and student wellness in the Methacton School District.

I don’t want to play, but I want to volunteer to help at the event and/or be a sponsor? What do I do?

Visit www.methactonfoundation.org/dodgeball.

Who gets a t-shirt?

Each team member will receive a free MEF Dodgeball t-shirt. Participants or parents/guardians if the participant is under the age of 18 will indicate the t-shirt size in one of the questions on the Permission to Participate form.
